The first step on our journey

Hello Seniors!

It was a pleasure meeting all of you. I am proud that you are empowering yourselves in a very difficult job market. Per my e-mail yesterday, Career Development is assigning you a career counselor. I know all of you completed your homework, which was to update your eRecruiting profile, register for the alumnae online community (you received an e-mail from Alumni Relations), and work on your resumes and cover letters. As promised, today you will recieve another e-mail instructing you how to access the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII).

Since you will be getting a lot of information via the Senior Initiative Program, let's use the blog to create a dialogue around questions you may have. Any thoughts on the presentation given Sunday by SixFigureStart? What do you think about their advice? How will you use their presentation to help you with your job search?

How do you answer the quintessential interview question, "tell me about yourself"? Is it true that men categorically interview better than women? That can't be true...right. How will you convey your vision to your potential employer?

What do you think?

I'm excited about our presentations this week! I'll see you soon.

Peace,

Robert Earl
